Anousheh Ansari has founded and held high-level positions in numerous technology and communications companies over the last two decades. Her most recent entrepreneurial endeavor is Prodea Systems Inc, where she is chairman, CEO and co-founder. Prodea addresses the technology needs of millions of broadband users around the globe. In September 2006, Anousheh captured headlines around the world as the first female private space explorer and she has helped pioneer the commercial and personal space flight industry through the title sponsorship for the $10 million Ansari X Prize. Anousheh is passionate about enabling and encouraging our young generation to learn and find careers related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Anousheh also currently works to enable social entrepreneurs to bring about radical change globally, with organizations such as X Prize, ASHOKA and the PARSA Community Foundation. Anousheh’s organization ran the first What if Student Competition in 2008.
Anousheh is also part of the Advisory Council of the What If Competition.
